Books, language and texts have always fascinated Laura Bischof since her school days and are an integral part of her life. Although her everyday life is often turned upside down by her chronic illness, she can be found with a book in her hand whenever time permits. This passion for the magic of words has always been with her. After completing the FemPreneurship Academy and further training in online marketing, one thing became clear to her over time – she wanted to become a copywriter.
When I saw the information about the Fempreneurship Academy, I quickly got excited and wanted to be part of it. At that point, I had already received my first diagnosis, but I didn’t yet know what was to come. However, I was already aware that a traditional professional life would probably be difficult for me. When I started the academy, I didn’t have any concrete ideas, and the decision to become a copywriter wasn’t made until some time after graduating. Nevertheless, I gained important and valuable insights there that helped me a lot in my decision-making process. Without the academy, I would not have had the courage to take the step into self-employment.
She has been working as a freelance copywriter since February 2023 and has already completed some great projects during this time – including texts for a magazine, various landing pages and blog posts, as well as managing social media accounts for two companies. Freedom and independence are very important to her and thanks to self-employment, she can still work despite her chronic illnesses with their many symptoms and sometimes frequent doctor and physiotherapy appointments, allowing her to regain some independence.
Before becoming self-employed and the outbreak of the disease, she mainly gained professional experience in tourism. During this time, her communication skills were practically constantly honed in daily contact with international guests. Even then, she was fascinated by how effective good advertising messages and language in general can be. I have always enjoyed the diverse contact with people from different cultures and am always happy when I can touch readers with my texts.
